Children in Service

Categories: On Series,Resources

Here at Calvary w e believe children are a very special gift from the Lord. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom on heaven.” We also recognize that we have b e e n i n s t r u c t e d i n t h e scriptures to “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” We consider this command very important at Calvary Chapel Bitterroot Valley. Because of this we have, over the years, sought to develop a Children’ s Ministry that is able to understand. We read in the book of Nehemiah 8:1-2, “Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate; and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the B o o k o f t h e L a w o f Moses, which the Lord had commanded Israel. So Ezra the priest brought the law.before the assembly of men and women and all who could hear with understanding on the first day of the seventh month.” In like manner, during our adult services we are teaching and sharing at a level geared for adults. Thus children, when they attend the adult services and are unable to understand the teaching, have a tendency to be bored and often begin to squirm and fidget, causing a distraction to others around them. In light of this, we feel that the best place for our children is in their Children’s Ministry classes. With Bible studies geared for their understanding, songs that allow them to express their love and worship to the Lord, teachers who will minister to them at their level and also help you in training them up, we truly believe that their Children’s Ministry classroom is where God desires your child to be.
